HARVEST // #2018Vintage Swan Valley __________________________________ Last #weekend I was #lucky enough to watch #behindthescenes @olivefarmwines and learnt how #wine was made, from #grape #harvesting in the #vineyard to bottling. 🙌🏽✨🙌🏽 I have Anthony Yurisich #winemaker and Steve, the #cellardoor #manager to thank for it!🤗 We are up at the #cool crack of #dawn in what is usually a warm to hot #Mediterranean #climate #region to make sure to #harvest the grapes when the sun can least affect them. I also had the opportunity to ride Ralf, the mechanical #eroharvester, through the vineyard until we arrived to the #cheninblanc plot just before Ralf starts to shake the #vines removing #grapes. There's only one of these #german harvesters in #SwanValley, so having the opportunity to ride him around was quite a treat! ⚡️⚡️⚡️✨⚡️⚡️⚡️ It is a family owned-and-run affair here at Olive Farm Wines, the beauty of #OFW lies in the family's legacy and this day's harvest is just one of the many things they do together. 🍇🍇🍇😎🍇🍇🍇 Anthony is proudly the fourth in line to take up reigns at the family owned vineyard. Their father Ian has left a lasting impression on him and his siblings about the passion and dedication needed to make the exceptional #wines they are well known for‼️ 🔹🔹🔹✔️🔹🔹🔹 I experienced that harvest is a busy time for a #winery and appreciate all the passionate work to produce the excellent wines. I also enjoy #winetasting at the fascinating and charming cellar door. Steve took me through the wines they had for tasting and was great in explaining the different wines that OFW produces. so even though its busy behind the scene, you can visit the #cellardoor for some #delicious wine tasting whether you’re a novice or a wine lover like me, OFW has something for you. ⚠️Stay tuned, there’s more to come!

Hello Wine Lovers! ‼️ Have you seen the #erograpeliner in action❓❓ 🍇 🍇 🍇 ❕❕Meet ‘Ralf’, the new grape picker @olivefarmwines 🎥 👉🏼Sit tight and have a look at this short #video #🎥 Anthony, OFW’s #winemaker, is #piloting Ralf, #harvesting #cheninblanc #grapes. Ralf is tuned to precision by Anthony who keys in coordinates and pressure measures so as not to harm either #grape or #vine. Ralf will then #travel between the #vines shaking and rubbing them gently, de-stems the grapes, eliminating a step in the #winemaking process and relieving grapes into a #hopper. ⬅️Swipe to the left⬅️ notice the #vines after #harvesting with #Ralf, show the #stems still attached…Pretty cool huh? After this, Ian (Anthony's dad), operates the forklift to place received grapes into the #destemmer and #crusher. Et Voila!
