Entwined in the Valley is back, the most exciting set of events for food and wine lovers in the Swan Valley will be celebrated this weekend. The event is one of the biggest in its category, and thanks to the collaboration of the whole community, local businesses working together, there’s nothing like it in the country.
Around 50 different events will take place in the cellars, restaurants and artisan shops around the region. Wine tastings and special dinners with award-winning chefs are only a few highlights. Here’s all you need to know about this delightful event.
Feast by Fervor is coming to Entwined this year. The renowned pop-up dining experience promises a real feast based on locally sourced, native Australian ingredients.
The Secret Supper, sponsored by Movida Estate will be the most coveted event, a dining experience like no other in an extraordinary setting, only revealed to the lucky diners who can get a seat.
A set of master classes will be held during Entwined. Become an apprentice chocolatier, learn all there is about beekeeping or master wine pairings with the winemakers themselves.
You’ll get to sample the finest produce in the region, from cheese to chocolate, and from sparkling wines to fortified “stickies.” Guidance provided by the professional, dedicated, local craftsmen of the Valley.
Wine takes centre stage at Entwined. Major wineries like Upper Reach Winery, Corymbia and Sittella, will open the doors to their cellars and barrel rooms to reveal their secrets. You’ll be able to taste rare wines in astounding settings; many of these are once in a lifetime opportunities.
An exciting vertical tasting of the iconic Talijancich Verdelho wines will go back to the 2003 vintage (featured image), and John Kosovich, the master of Chenin, will share a few bottles he’s been saving for a special occasion like this one.
Other drinks will be represented as well. The Create Your Own Cider competition promises to be both fun, and delicious, and a gin shoot-out will crown the Gin World Champion.
There will be much more going on besides food and wine. The National Polocrosse Championship, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will overlap the festival adding another tier to the already varied program.
For art lovers, Award-winning photographer Paul Dowe will teach how to use the iPhone camera to get insta-worthy pictures. A jazz & blues session will take place at the Mandoon Estate gardens, and local artist Martin Jaine will dot the landscape with his unusual sculptures. Download the trail map from the Entwined in the Valley website and find them all.
You don’t want to miss Entwined in the Valley this year, or any other. It will be educational and enjoyable. The warm people of Swan Valley will open their cellars, dining rooms and hearts to welcome food and wine lovers from all the country and the world. Tickets are selling out as you read this, and trust me, there’s no other place you’ll rather be this weekend.
